Donna Coppola

Case Manager, JOI Childcare Center and Mental Retardation Worker, Department of Mental Retardation
Representing the Massachusetts Parent Teacher Association

Ms. Coppola is a member of the Lynn School Committee and a regional advisor for the Massachusetts Parent Teacher Association. She and her husband have four children, three of whom graduated from Lynn Classical High School and their youngest, Patrick, who is in the seventh grade at Breed Junior High. They were also foster parents for 11 years. Ms. Coppola is employed by JOI Childcare Center where she is a case manager of the teen parent program and for the Massachusetts DMR as a mental retardation worker. She is a member of AFSCME 1730, former member of the IBEW and Union Steward in the CWA while employed for 23 years with NET&T and AT&T. As a member of the Lynn School Committee, Ms. Coppola works to make sure that the school department meets the goals and policies set by the committee. She sees the Education Reform Act of 1993 as an exciting opportunity for change and a great opportunity for the students to be able to reach their academic potential.
